A note from Meeka's dad...
Ever since the day Meeka was born, I've gone along (most of the time happily) with lots of her adventures, as she has (most of the time happily) with mine. So... after years of her watching me record at home, when she decided it was time to make "her own" recording... all I could say was "Sounds like FUN."
In December 1994, Meeka and I started writing songs together for this project. By the new year we had begun recording. You can hear the difference in her voice from the first song she sang, "SUN SHINES FOR ALL" (January 1995) to the last song she sang, "SHINY PENNY" (September 1995). During the summer, her cousins Lo Lo and Regi came up from Miami to stay with us. Besides constantly playing on the computer and occasionally swimming, they spent much of their summer under the headphones singing along with Meeka. They contributed so much to the sound, that in order to finish, I had to record them over the phone after they returned home. ~ Anyway, this is the first night in 9 months that the tape recorder is silent. And as I'm searching for the perfect words to wrap this up, my little partner once again comes to my rescue. She skips into the room, looks over my shoulder, and sings "Ice cream, cookies, Sesame St., I tell you pretty baby life is sweet...!" AMEN! Our first family album for KIDS age 1 to 100. We hope you like to sing along. Love from all of us... to you...
